As you all know, a huge amount of work has gone into both of our grass greens over the winter, and we’re really pleased with how they’re looking. They’re in great condition and ready for what we hope will be a fantastic season ahead!

Our greenkeepers have asked the Board to help protect the greens so we can keep them looking their best throughout the season. One of the things they’ve highlighted is the damage that can be caused by dumpers on the grass, as Malcolm demonstrates in the video on this page.

So, where possible, we’d really appreciate everyone’s help by avoiding the use of dumpers on the grass greens. We know that for some members playing on the grass greens is important part of being able to enjoy their bowls, and we certainly don’t want that to stop anyone from playing.

With this in mind, the Board is looking into securing funding for a few bowling arms for members to use when playing on the grass greens as well as other options. We’re hoping this will give members another way to enjoy the greens while also helping us take good care of them.

Thanks everyone for your understanding and for helping us keep our greens in great shape.
